Anxiety during a pandemic.

a functional genomics outlook and energetic treatment approach with IMAET Biofeedback & the SHOW Method.

The CoViD crisis and the political challenges sweeping the country have send anxiety issues through the roof. It appears as if the entire population suffers from some degree of anxiety. What can be done to deal with anxiety at the functional level and by natural means?

There are all kinds of herbs and supplements offered to calm emotions. This article focuses on the epigenetic management of stress as it relates to anxiety overload.

Scientists have long recognized that many psychiatric disorders tend to run in families, suggesting potential genetic roots. Such disorders include autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), bipolar disorder, major depression, anxiety and schizophrenia. Symptoms can overlap and so distinguishing among these 5 major psychiatric syndromes can be difficult. Their shared symptoms suggest they may also share similarities at the biological level. In fact, recent studies have turned up more and more evidence of shared genetic risk factors. NIH, 2013

I have found these genetic links in my practice everywhere, from simple allergies to skin conditions to weight issues. We are all products of our parents and the environment we grew up in. No reason to feel guilty or defensive. But it sure is helpful to realize these facts of life and consider these personal details to overcome individual health issues and life challenges.

Anxiety is a rather common phenomenon, and it manifests in many variations (panic attacks, heart pounding). From periods of excessive nervousness, fear, apprehension, and worry to physiological symptoms of sweating, racing heart and insomnia. There are dozens of genes with variants which show up in multiple psychiatric disorders (polygenic). I will just mention a few gene variants, which I have worked with, scientists have linked to anxiety disorders and whose frequencies are available in our test kits and IMAET software now:

· MAOA – Monoamine oxidase A

encodes mitochondrial enzymes which catalyze the oxidative deamination of amines, such as dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin.

· COMT - Catechol-O-methyltransferase

catalyzes the transfer of a methyl group from S-adenosylmethionine to catecholamines, including the neurotransmitters dopamine, epinephrine, and norepinephrine. This O-methylation results in one of the major degradative pathways of the catecholamine transmitters.

· NTRK2  –  neurotrophic receptor tyrosine kinase 2

this kinase is a membrane-bound receptor that, upon neurotrophin binding, phosphorylates itself and members of the MAPK pathway. Signaling through this kinase leads to cell differentiation. Mutations in this gene have been associated with obesity and mood disorders.

Please, do not get discouraged by the complexity of our genes and the metabolism they govern. It can be managed and learned and connecting the dots becomes more and more exciting and rewarding. The SHOW Method is a template to apply these bioenergetic treatments and the IMAET keeps it all in functional order.

Many functional disorders, i.e. ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), including anxiety have hundreds of gene variants involved (polygenic), that have been researched. The combination of variants involved depend on environmental triggers and are infinite. So, a method is essential to energetically work up the functional genomic problems presented as variants and SNPs. I have developed the SHOW Method for that purpose, which is integrated into IMAET Biofeedback.

Functionally, life happens at the interface of the environment and our genome. The interrelationship between these two entities has been named yin/yang, positive/negative polarity and in binary data terms I/O. This interface is functioning energetic with frequencies and has been called QI energy by TCM and Life Force by others. I look at it as the totality of cellular communications and ultimately IMAET Biofeedback interfaces with that cellular data flow. This Qi or cellular communications contain all the energetic exchanges going on between the environment and the genome.

Within this dataflow we can discover the genomic variants causing dysfunction and inflammation. This part is usually accomplished with a scan or reactivity test and the imbalanced components of the database are listed on top of the screen. A skilled practitioner can now assemble a harmonizing, resonant treatment to be presented back into the body’s cellular communications network, the energy meridians. From there, the informational biofeedback reaches every cell and the DNA within them for a tune-up, an energy balancing, gene harmonizing biofeedback.

In general, the SHOW Method does 4 things:

· analyze and optimize the entire metabolism by harmonizing genomic variants. Allergies are a big category within this step.

· strengthen and engage the Immune System to clean up infections, incl. dormant infections. The Immune System is operated by the DNA.

· maximize and harmonize the detoxification of all kinds of chemicals, toxins, and debris. This highly detailed process is also operated by our DNA, containing tons of variants causing problems.

· realize deep emotional traumas and resolve them. Fear and worry are just 2 common emotions found with anxiety.

Our DNA has evolved over thousands of years, by adapting to environmental challenges. Because of this adaptive nature of our genome, which makes it sensitive and responsive to energetic stimuli, it responds to specific and precise energetic harmonics or frequencies. We can actively harmonize genetic expression by applying specific and precise energetic signatures in the form of frequencies. One clinically successful way to accomplish some of this, has been the SHOW Method applied with IMAET Biofeedback.

Anxiety is a complex condition and these methods, as powerful as they are, need to be looked at as complementary to medical treatment. Timing is important in all functional and auto-immune conditions. The younger the individual the better the results, the more profound the outcome. The older the person, the longer the condition has been going on and the more challenging to remedy the dysfunction as well as rehabilitate associated damaged tissues, such as the brain and the adrenals. The new scientific discoveries in genetics and genomics are adding precision to the energy work in mental disorders and giving us more harmonious treatment options than ever before.
